What are global variables?

Tabata Vossen -

In Qualifio, we sometimes use global variables in case of integrations. For instance, it might allow us to pass an FTP password, a WebHook URL, or an API key. If you have an integration running with us, your Qualifio expert might create those for you and ask you to fill them out. They can be active at 4 different levels, and their value is inherited from their parent level. Here's how it works.

Note: Global variables configuration is available to account administrators only. They can review global variables and fill out some information about them. However, only Qualifio team members can create global variables.

Global variables at the account level

To access the global variables of your account:

  1. Click Settings in the menu bar. The settings page opens.
  2. In the Setup section, click Advanced features. The list of all advanced features opens.
  3. Scroll down to Global variables.

Use case: WebHook

Let's say you use a WebHook to send the data you collect with Qualifio to your CRM. You could record the WebHook URL at your account or website level, then all you'd have to do is select the WebHook right from your campaign's Form step (under Data connections). You wouldn't have to enter this URL each time you want to use the WebHook.

Required or optional variable?

It is possible to set a global variable as required/mandatory to operate your data integration or push. In that case, it will not be possible to save the screen (regardless of the level: Advanced Features, Website Management, campaign Form or channel Tags) until a value has been defined for the variable. An error message will be displayed with the name of the variable with a missing value:
